Painting With Acrylics (Beginners)

The course begins with a brief description of the properties of the medium you will be using, which is initially supplied as part of the course. Then a brief description of the colours you will be using. Then its in at the deep end time to start painting. To help you the course tutor will be there with you every step of the way to demonstrate and show you how to paint. After this initial lesson, which is designed to show off the properties of the paint you will be using, you will then go on to paint a believable lifelike picture, which incorporates almost every technique you will use. Once successfully completing this painting, you are free to embark on your own personal projects which the tutor will encourage and oversee. Some of the paintings you might like to do:-
•  Portraits (from photographs)
•  Animal Portraits (from photographs)
•  Wildlife Paintings
•  Landscapes
•  You may wish to illustrate a favourite scene from a favourite children’s book.
•  Paint for greetings cards.

You will find your tutor very amiable and experienced, he will guide you from blank white page to finished painting, showing you shortcuts and giving you valuable hints and time saving tips and advise.

You will need to bring:-
•  A hairdryer
•  A selection of watercolour brushes
•  A water container ( jam jar)
•  A palette ( an old ceramic plate is best)
•  A rubber
•  Pencils 4H, 3H, 2H, HB
